Maintaining An Undivided Focus In Life

I remember a particular experiment we did during our high school days: it was a physics experiment that involved the use of convex lenses. During the heat of the day, we positioned a convex lens so that the sun's rays will be incident on one side, while the other side was focused on a white paper. While this focus was maintained for long, the paper changed colour from white to brown and then heated to the point of catching fire and finally charred. All these were possible because the lens was kept focused on the paper.

Just like the case of the physics experiment I cited earlier, in other aspects of life, successes depend largely on how, where and what you focus on. If your dominant focus is on your goal (without being distracted), then you will achieve it. Some people have not been able to achieve their goals, not because their goals are impossible to achieve, but because they have divided attention and that led them to lose their focus.

When the night seems too dark, keeping your focus will make you to eventually embrace light. Sometimes, you just need to hope against hope in order to see the hope. When everything seems to move against you, you should not lose hope, neither should you allow your focus to be distorted. Where you constantly focus is, most times, where your destiny lies. No wonder it has been said that:

Where someone's treasure is, his heart will be focused there.

What you constantly look at, you have the propensity to become. You cannot focus on negativities and expect your life to turn out to be positive. Remember that, in nature, likes will produce after a similar kind. So the way you want your life to turn out to be, you have to make it your dominant point of focus. Focusing on positivity does not overrule the fact there are negative happenings but if gives you the hope of something positive happening.

Your skills and the power within you can only be harnessed by focusing on a particular goal per time. In athletics for example, if a competitor runs on two tracks at the same time, he will end up losing in both tracks and he will ultimately lose the prize. But if he focuses only on his own track, he will have a fair chance of being among the winners.

If you have ever hunted bush meat before, you will understand this particular point of being focused. When more than one bush meat runs out of a hole, if you try to pursue the multiples at the same time, you may end up not catching anyone. However, if you focus on one and ignore the others, your chance of catching it will be greatly amplified. This same thing also happens when you pursue many targets at the same time in life.

To increase your chances of success, you have to create a target, set a timeframe for it and then pursue that target with your whole zest. When you hit that target, you can proceed to create a new target or consolidate on the old one. With this, you will tend to maximize your focus and you will see how easily success can be attained.
