Giving Life Another Chance

There is a point where you will get to in life and you will feel like you have given life every chance you can. Every human; irrespective of their race, status, background, nationality; has experienced this but what makes the difference is what you do after it. Do you just accept the fate that you have tried, or do you keep trying until you have hit the mark? At the face of giving up, do you just throw in the towel or do you rise up and give life another chance?

The truth is, no matter how long you have failed at an attempt, it will never be over until you have willingly accepted the fact that you failed. But when you refuse to accept, then you can still give it another shot, and you will realize that failing at an attempt is never final. You have to look beyond seeing failing at an attempt as outright failure but rather see it as some steps that you have taken backwards, which will set a pace for you to have another comeback.

Many people that have succeeded in this our contemporary world did not have a smooth ride from start to success. Many of them experienced downturns, heavy challenges, breakdowns, and knockdowns, but they continued and they gave life all it takes. Finally, they were able to move pass their challenges and success was attained. Note this: if the first attempt does not work, it does not mean that you should quit, it only indicates that you should have another attempt and possibly a different approach.

Good success does not answer to mere wishes nor to luck. If you are waiting for a point at which success will drop on your laps without working for it, then you will wait in futility. For success to be attained, you must be willing to keep giving life your best shot. You do not work because you feel like working nor because you are motivated to work, but because it is a necessity for success. It may not be convenient, it may not even be pleasing, but it is still a mandate.

That you failed at something does not mean you will fail at another, it might just be that you are more built for something else. The story of my friend goes to prove this. After leaving high school, a particular friend of mine applied for the conventional university but was not given admission. The next year, he was also refused admission. By this time, he was almost getting tired of the school system and even contemplated going to learn a trade with his uncle that stays in the market.

After a while of thinking, he still picked up the fragments of his broken life and decided to give life another shot. This time, he decided to apply to the NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy). At this point, many people laughed at him because of the competitive nature of the academy. They thought "if he could not secure admission with conventional universities, how will he stand a chance with NDA?"

By the end of that year, the list of admission was released and amazingly, his name appeared there. That was how he gain entrance into the NDA and he later graduated into the Nigerian Airforce. Now, he is a flight lieutenant. If he had given up at the point that he failed, he would not have been a decorated airforce officer today. You see, success in life has a lot to do with your perseverance and your determination to succeed.
