Always push forward whenever you are convinced to be on the right track. Funny enough people might be discouraging you not because the want to stop your progress but because the feel it is what is good for you.
That's is why most times all you need to succeed is just you and your conscience. Once you are convinced to be on the right track, ignore the crowd and move on.
