Monochrome Catfish Skeleton !!

This morning taking my ritual jog around the lake down to the beach and back , i noticed while jogging pass the freshwater lake this sort of reptile thing looking at me in the eyes from a little distance at first i thought it was just another small reptile lizard and as i would get closer it would just take of into the tall grass but as , i got closer i realized it wasn't moving so been curious just had to inspect it didn't i , what i found it to be was some sort of decayed fish skeleton with a different look.

I am normally fine with seeing dead fish washed ashore onto the beach and take no notice or interest but this type of fish skeleton just had a different look about it one i hadn't seen before and it had quite a interesting textual armored shield even though it had been eaten from inside out the armored shield still looked pretty much intact apart from one big bit from it's back and a broken tail end.

What puzzled me was how did it end up on land in this state , had to be something bigger and stronger then him to bring it out of the lake and seems to have been here quite awhile , i do think the ants have cleaned him up well and with the sun bearing down on the skeleton it has made it look a very artistic fish skeleton.

I was really falling in love with the shape and texture of this fish skeleton i was thinking of taking it home for my mantelpiece or have my wife do an canvas painting of it's armored shield but i didn't want to scare the hell out of her she's to much of a animal lover...lol 😆

When i did get home i Googled this fish skeleton and it turned out to be a Armored Catfish how funny is that i was admiring it because of it's armored shield and why they are called Catfish is because of there prominent barbels, which resemble cat's whiskers.
