The owner of this two-headed dog is a Titan of three named Geryon. Together with Eurytion, Orthrus was in charge of guarding Geryon's cattle in Erytheia. The fate of Orthrus, Eurytion, and Geryon ended in the hands of Heracles who finished all three and at the same time solved his tenth challenge: Geryon's cattle.

Orthrus or Orthus, a dog with two heads, almost the same as Cerberus, his brother. He is a dog from Geryon [a giant corpse] who keeps his Red Cows in Erytheia [red one]. Orthos was later killed by Hercules in his 10th Commandment.

Orthus is a two-headed dog who is Kerberos's brother. Orthos is preserved by a giant corpse, Gerion. When Heracles came to the place of Gerion to take his cattle, Heracles first killed Orthos with an arrow before finally killing Gerion.
