IN JESUS NAME, I WILL NOT DEFILE MYSELF

READ: Daniel 1:1-6.8-20
Key Scripture: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. (Daniel 1:8).

THOUGHTS
Today we are reading about Daniel who decided that he would not defile himself. God is longing for men and women who will choose not to defile themselves. A man knelt down at the eve of his wedding and made a vow never to defile himself. He mentioned seven ways he would not defile himself: his eyes, his lips, his heart, his body, his tongue, his finances and his friends. He promised God that he would not join bad company. "You can make these covenant your own, to enjoy God's maximum presence. Our sense organs are doors and windows through which things – good and bad – enter our minds and the mind is the laboratory where everything is processed. When God keeps a guard over these our senses, we will be kept from defilement.
