Extending the Birthday Weekend in Matlock Baths

Imagine the scene two digital nomads, three buses, flawless exchanges, the next to the next and boom, dropped us into the little town that @dayleeo enjoyed so much the previous year, less busy, nice coffee and bitterly cold.

Today we are writing to you from f’coffee in the high street of matlock bath, the home of Victorian style coastal towns inland, it’s an odd cut stone landscape of English countryside scattered with gambling, chip shops and sweet shops playing up to the what is usual summer location for people to ride their motorbike through — an enigma.

Last time we were here it was much warmer, the skies were lovely and warm and it felt like a film set of some Victorian BBC2 drama, right now it’s just started to snow, and it’s bloody cutting winds next to the river, i think it’s the river derwent.

Littered between here and derby are undulating hills, very severe 12% drops, sheep, stone cut blocks and mills that are in some kind of restoration program. Like @dayleeo mentioned it’s hard to believe we have homeless problems in this country when we have so much space in the countryside — of course it’s a permission based reason, the wealth and the pass me down culture of the land owners here.

Today is normally our swimming day but we moved that to last Friday so we swam twice last week in the end, I’ve been digging the exercise and good eating, we have been really trying to be good on that front and i think it’s started to really help my focus at least, i know dayle is a little under the weather with her cold at the moment thou.

The Peak District and Derbyshire dales are certainly places that i want to explore more, especially in the summer time. It’s one of the very reasons I’d love a van with a wood burning stove, you could totally get away from it all, collect some wood, get some supplies in and really zone into building out your projects, especially if internet was scarce.

Running super light weight today, just the mobile phone and my apple wireless keyboard and the internet in this cafe is rapid so I’m set, I’ve took a bunch of photos that I’ll edit after I’ve written this out — I’m hoping that after we have done lunch and maybe a pint in the local pub i can start to put some titles together for videos for @dlive for this week, I’m keen to get up and streaming asap this week.

Can you believe it’s gonna be the 1st of march on Wednesday? Did you get everything you wanted to get done this month? I know i kinda got sidetracked or lacked focus at a bunch of times this month.

but i think that’s because i went deeper on the @dlive platform this month and i was not expecting that, I’m glad i did thou because ii’m loving the fact that it’s powered by the steem blockchain.
