Not all websites are created equal!

Dear Hivers

Whether you are an independent, very small or small business, not having a website is an unforgivable mistake , whatever your field of activity. Why? Because Google has replaced paper directories and because consumers look for information and products on the web before consulting a seller.

However, not all websites are created equal and not all web agency proposals - even if they are well established - do not guarantee success. Far from it!

A site: showcase of the company, yes but ...
What is a showcase? Traditionally, it is the space of a store visible from the public highway. It shows the products for sale in this store.

Packaging, window, or wall, glass is the basis of transparency without transition: we see, but we cannot touch . Communication is universal and abstract. A showcase is enchantment and frustration but also information which is the very strategy of advertising.

On the web, your showcase is your site. And if the primary function of your site is, as for the window of a store, to show, it must also make you want to enter the store . You will understand, your site must go beyond simple seduction. Because, beautiful as it is, the design does not make the value of the website, it is only one component among others.

To find out if your site is likely to lead the customer (or the Internet user) to enter your store (or to contact you), here is a series of questions to ask yourself :

Is your site the web version of your sales brochure?
Does your site have 5-10 static pages set up a few years ago?
You have not touched your site since its creation.
You have never looked at your site traffic statistics.
You receive very few requests through your site.

Because, a site that does not encourage Internet users to take action (to request an info, an offer or a demo) is useless! You have wasted your time and spent your money in vain.

Whether you are an independent or a small local business or a growing SME, you have a common goal : to find new customers and to retain existing customers.
