morphology and anatomy of grasshoppers

The grasshopper body consists of 3 main parts, namely head, chest (thorax) and stomach (stomach). Grasshoppers also have six foot jointed, two pairs of wings, and two antennas. Long back legs are used to jump while short legs are used for walking. though it has no ears, grasshoppers can hear. hearing aids on locusts is called the tympanum and is located in the belly near the wing. the tympanum is shaped like a disc consisting of several processors and nerves used to monitor vibrations in the air, functionally similar to a human eardrum. locust breathe with trachea.
