News flash 2

Last month, the LUV level numbers were changed. Read about the details and reasons here.

The summary of the reason and the problem:

  • Reason: LUV was growing very fast, was being emitted very fast.
  • Problem: Resource Credits (RCs) were drawing down fast.

Altering the LUV level numbers did what was expected: LUV emission slowed and RCs were allowed to accrue rather than to draw down.

Unexpectedly, we're kind of right back at that point. There's a tipping point between (a) the draw-down rate of RCs and (b) the replenish rate of RCs (determined by the account's Hive Power amount). Evidently, this tipping point has again teetered back in the unfavorable direction...the draw-down rate is greater than the replenish rate.

So, it's time to change the numbers to LUV levels again. The chart below shows LUV emission. The yellow line is the 7-day average. The slow-down is clear around 09/08 when numbers were change then. It's also clear that the 7-day average is back to that same level, higher even. It's time for a change again.

This change will likely happen in the next few days and will likely be a more substantial increase than the last time.
