Here's a few Arizona sunset shots for this #lovetheclouds contest by @tobetada
Most sunsets in Arizona are spectacular. The only time you don't get nice sunsets is when there is full cloud cover which is rare in Arizona.
This sunset had quite an amazing mix of dark swirly clouds above and rough red-orange clouds off in the horizon. The Wetstone mountains offer a nice silhouette to the mix.
Here's a shot with some solar panels in the foreground. Solar power in Arizona is a no brainer.
As you look to the left and right of the sunset the colors become more cool in the purple range. The acute angle of the sun causes the atmosphere to separate out the light spectrum. The dry air, dust and clouds help reflect the different light wavelengths.
An open portion of the sky shows a clear blue sky to contrast with the bright warm colors of the sunset.
A low cloud really caught the orange wavelength in this shot. Scraggly mesquite trees and some evergreens add some black outlines to the bold colors.
