Hopes of happiness

The year is coming to a close and the entire human population is looking forward to a new year filled with happiness and the good news of the pandemic is finally over. Although there is news about covid variants, most people are now just in a 'shrug' mood. There is no use blaming anybody and it is true that we have gone through the worst times.

What will the new year hold for us?

Whatever is there in store for us, good or not so good, let us learn to face our fears. Often, it is the fear that is worse than the situation. Many people are not even sure how to handle their fears and act with ignorance rather than think straight and act with responsibility.

What we should first learn is to act with maturity and not get carried away by emotions. Emotional outbursts can be damaging and we will regret them later on. As it is often said, words once spoken cannot be taken back and so we should remember not to speak in haste. Why not spend a few minutes thinking about how to respond and I am sure there are better ways to handle stuff rather than behave in a volatile manner.

You can create happiness

Is happiness in our hands? Yes, it is. If we choose to be happy no matter what the situation is, then no one can harm us in any way. Even physical abusers can be conquered with love. Many people think that animals are harmful but in reality, pets like dogs are the most faithful than other humans.

  • owning a pet can give happiness
  • having a hobby is better than watching the telly
  • spending time with genuine friends and family gives happiness
  • listening to music soothes the mind
  • traveling like going to the beach or a mountain trek or just a walk in the park refreshes the mind
  • volunteering and helping others is also rejuvenating for the body, mind, and soul
  • playing games like splinterlands is a great way to feel good
  • if you are not a gamer, you can always try your luck in the garden
  • Some people start off with a small backyard vegetable garden but end up being very successful that they leave their careers behind and start full-time farming

We meet many people along the way in our life journey. Some may stay with us and the others we forget or lose touch but whoever leaves or stays back, each one leaves a mark and we hold on to the attitudes we form after the first impression, is it not?
So, remember to make your mark by leaving a good first impression.

Just do your duty and do not crave the rewards. The advice is given by Lord Krishna in Bhagawad Gita. Reminded today by Azircon. A karma yogi who does his duty without expecting anything in return. Such people are rare. If you know such people, then know that the person is rare and hard to find.
