¡Hola Chicos!

A veces las mejores recetas nos salen por accidente. Esto fue lo que me ocurrió anoche cuando hacía la cena. Iba a preparar unas típicas arepitas de plátano maduro fritas y al momento de agregar la harina me doy cuenta que no tenía suficiente para que la masa quedara con la consistencia adecuada. Pero afortunadamente contaba con harina de trigo y gracias a esto pude solucionar. Tenía idea de como podían quedar y estaba tranquila con esto. Pero al probarlas me di cuenta que superaron mis expectativas pues su sabor era delicioso y además quedaron bien esponjocitas. Yo les iba a documentar la receta de las típicas arepitas fritas de plátano pero ahora les comparto una mucho mejor. Así que mejor vayamos con el procedimiento.

Sometimes the best recipes come to us by accident. This is what happened to me last night when I was making dinner. But fortunately I had wheat flour and thanks to this I was able to solve the problem. I had an idea of how they could be and I was calm with this. But when I tasted them I realized that they exceeded my expectations because their flavor was delicious and they were also very fluffy. I was going to document the recipe for the typical fried plantain arepitas but now I will share a much better one. So let's get to the procedure.

Debe quedar una mezcla muy suave, casi líquida. Recuerda que la harina de maíz absorbe mucha agua, así que te recomiendo irla agregando de a poco hasta lograr la consistencia ideal.

The mixture should be very smooth, almost liquid. Remember that corn flour absorbs a lot of water, so I recommend adding it little by little until you reach the ideal consistency.

Esta debe ser leudante para lograr la esponjosidad de la que les hablaba al inicio. Si no tienes de esta harina, le puedes agregar polvo de hornear.

En una platito o tapa vamos a colocar un poco de aceite para mojar nuestras manos, luego tomamos un poco de masa y damos forma a las arepitas.

Al estar listas las colocamos sobre servilletas o paños absorbentes para retirar el exceso de aceite. Ya solo resta servir con los acompañantes y salsas que desees. Espero les haya gustado la receta y las preparen en casa. ♥
