The lady was sitting on the entrance into the room, contemplating the big jewel, and the golden clock. The lady's mother was sitting on a chair, as usual, reading something on her little books book.

The lady looked up at her, curious,

'Mother?'

'Yes?'

'How do you know what time it is?'

The lady's mother looked up at her, with the same questions in her eyes

'How, dese two books gots dat 'arp?' and 'was it wot dese books said?'

'Well, I can't believe that I am going to talk to you about this. At your age…', if the lady's mother were a human, she would have blushed right now.

'What's wrong with it? Please, tell me, I want to know, I want to know what time it is!'

'This big jewel', the mother replied, 'tells us what time it is. It can tell if it's morning, noon, night, or even a rainstorm. If there is a sun or a moon. If it's a rainy day or a clear one. It's unbelievable, just like your father'.

'So where do we get that jewel?'

'It came as a gift from your father. Yes, that's right, he found it while he was on a quest in our world, with his friends. It was still with the shopkeeper when your father returned to our world. He went back to the shopkeeper to inquire if there were any others like it, maybe one for your father, and that's when he found out that there was only one, and he couldn't give it to him. So, he didn't. Then, just as he left the shop, he saw his two friends, who were kind enough to come visit and discuss anything that he needed. That's when he found out that they had found it on their quest, and went back to the shopkeeper to get it. Here, you hold it, and see for yourself. Now, where was I?'

'The two books' the lady said.

'Yes, the two books, but one of them gots dese 'arp and the other one gots de 'arps. Now you get it?'

The lady nodded, her mother continued.

'When you are a princess, you always understand things. You know things, you can see things before everyone else can read them. Well, the one book gots the 'arp of an evening, and de other one gots the 'arp of the day. You know why?'

The lady shook her head, wondering what her mother was getting at. 'No, but I need to know why you are showing me this.'

'Because you are going to be my daughter's princess soon. And you are going to be her guardian, so you must know everything you can. It is important, and you may very well thank me later.'

'Okay, I get you. Now, where was I? Oh, yes, the jewel. There is only one jewel that tells the time in this castle, and it is in the center of the room. It appears in different ways, depending on what time it is, and one can touch the jewel, but nothing more. Now, about those books…'

'Yes?'

'You know that there are other ones, which control the sun and the moon. You know that?'

'No. What's that?'

'Those books are several miles away from here. They are also enchanted, you may pick them up if you want.
