Unique countries of the world, which do not have military nor border security

Neither troops are deployed on these international borders nor is there any security. Serbian writer Joran Nikolic's book The 'Atlas of Unusual Borders' gives information about some such unique limitations.Diomed island

The two small islands, Diomid Island, is the border between Alaska and Russia. Actually, the big island known as Big Diomid falls under Russia and the small island known as Little Diomid falls within the US border. Both these islands are given the surname, according to which the Big Diomid is called Tomorrow and Little Diomid is called Yesterday.Barley

The border of the Netherlands and Belgium, located in the city of Barle, Belgium, can only be understood by symbol, because the border is passing through a house. People come from far and wide to see this international border. By crossing this border, one can easily go from one country to another and roam without any hindrance.Medurjakje

Medurjakje is a small village spread over only 400 hectares. Only 270 people live in this village. It is in Serbia. Despite coming to Serbia region it falls under Bosnia and Herzegovina. While Serbia provides basic needs like roads and electricity to this village, Bosnia and Herzegovina levies taxes. The children of the village follow the Serbian curriculum at school. Serbia has proposed several times to correct the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Serbia believes that a better solution would be to establish a corridor between Ruho and Medurcaje.La Cure

La Cure, located about 30 kilometers north of Geneva, is a small village on the border of France and Switzerland. Part of this village is in Switzerland and some part in France. The famous Hotel Arbase located in this village is visited by people from far and wide. Its specialty is that one-third of it falls within the French border. One interesting thing about this hotel is that the visitors here are often asked which country they would like to sleep in. Every room of this uniquely styled hotel is divided into two parts.Lalivia

Lalivia, located in the east of the country of Andorra, is in France, but it belongs to Spain. The city is just half a mile from the France-Spain border. It has a population of only 1500. When a border agreement was reached between Spain and France in the 17th century, Spain was asked to hand over all the villages of North Cerdnya to France, although Lalivia had the status of a city. In such a situation, Spain retained this separate piece of land.
