Blockchain And Burgers + A Micro Meetup In Norway With @laivi, @svk And @gbert

Last night we went to a blockchain event hosted by a local energy company, Lyse. We decided to grab some burgers afterwards to talk more about Steemit. By we I mean @laivi, @svk, @gbert, Anders who's not on Steemit (yet) and myself. It was like a micro Steemit meetup.

Lyse arranges a lot of interesting events about current topics. This time Jon Ramvi was flown in from Oslo to talk about blockchain technology. Sigve A.K.A. @svk told us about the event and we were excited to learn more about blockchain.

Jon Ramvi showed us two empty see-through boxes and put several paper notes that was supposed to represent transactions in the first box. He then sealed the box with a lid and explained how you can't tamper with the content of the box. He used this to demonstrate the technology to the crowd and it was all very easy to understand. He even explained how the cryptography part of it works.

He talked about Ethereum, Bitcoins and gave some examples of how this technology can be used in future innovation. Ramvi is a Norwegian blockchain expert and founder of Oslo Blockchain Day.

At the event @gbert came over to me and said something like "You're Susanne!"
I panicked and thought it was someone I should recognize. It turned out he recognized me from Steemit. That's a first and probably a last. But it was a laughable and memorable moment.

After the event was done, we headed over to the local burger joint to get some burgers. I got a delicious veggie burger that I devoured at Sigve's house. Steemit money paid for my burger at the blockchain after party! That's a sentence I thought I'd never write.
Thank you @svk for getting me hooked on this. And for turning me in to a crypto currency maniac.

Susanne
