Last night, I was watching WORLD OF DANCE (great show by the way) but what intrigued me was how the audience (including myself) could read the emotions of the performers.
...looking at this girl dance, I could feel there was pain in her, and this other boy was so happy and joyful, that I got excited.
We all must have had at least one of such experiences. It could be a painting, music, dance, a conversation even just looking at a person and we can feel the emotions behind the expressions.
Emotions are such an integral part of why humans are different from any other living thing. We can feel emotions of other humans without even understanding the cause of that emotion. We do not just go about our lives, but rely on this emotional connection between us to help us understand ourselves.
Speaking from a logical point of view (being a Physicist), it's normal for a person to feel sad, angry, happy, etc, but when you're feeling something because someone else is, that isn't logical.
Emotions are like energy that cannot be quantified, but are in so many forms. Like with normal energy where you have sound, light, wind, etc, with emotions, we have happy, sad ,excited, anxious, even some that don't have words to describe them. EMOTIONS ARE Inquantifiable. Cannot be seem but can be felt. Emotions have no physicality, but they affect us physically.
How are emotions relayed seamlessly between humans defies logic. How is it that by being with a person you can feel their emotions? Sometimes, just watching a person dance on TV, and you just get sucked into their world.
