What's the real secret on this platform to getting noticed, like really?
If we put aside the sentiment about authoring good content, followers yadda yadda yadda.... what does it really come down to?
From what I can see, numbers. I have read some outstanding content that goes nowhere because the author has a 27 score attached to the side of their name. I have also seen:
- Straight out plagiarism, full on copy paste jobs
- The same article trotted out every few days, not a single word changed.
- Graphs again copied from some website.
- I'll vote you if you vote me
- And of course pictures upon pictures upon pictures, with nothing. No story no dialogue nothing, getting hundreds of dollars.
Put the points above have higher numbers and so have more votes generating more revenue.
I thought this was meant to be different, stood for something more???? The technology has evolved and yet we are the same old shameless self promoting bull shit artists that we have always been. Trade quality for a sniff of getting ahead.
Clearly I'm a little pissed off and rambling.
There are some great people on here, unfortunately being drowned out. If there is no place for newbies to cut their teeth then just close your doors and create a circle jerk social media platform.
I'm only a 34 so there is a sense that i am screaming into a vacuum here. I mean how many will actually read this as opposed to scroll past in their endless quest to find that high number with low replies in the endeavour to leave a clever comment that will attain votes.
Ah Well, I at least feel a little better.
And the world continues to turn.
