Hello, Hivers!
Its been so long since I was craving for an outlet to post about the things I love and my random thoughts. I'm so bliss and thankful for that moment when I was asked by my friend @explorewithsasha to join Hive with @purepinay and with the rest of crazy squad @byaheeelou @cheerupwithJL.
By the way, I'm Jenny or Jen for short from Gun city of the Northern Cebu, Danao City and here's my little life story. :)
I was born in Cebu city but grew up in Danao. I'm the eldest of the family and is the breadwinner. Breadwinner not because I was first to born but because I stand responsible to help my family before my self but hey, even if I'm born late or the youngest, I would have the same mindset as now.
I had to work at my early age as a service crew because I have to pay my own tuition fee that time. Yes, I was once a working student back then. Nevertheless, I did enjoy my teenage life. I'm grateful of the things that I've learned along the way and fell in love with such as, photography, cooking, became a first time furr-parent, travel with friends and a co-owner of a little business with my mom.
Thankfully, I was able to pass through those difficult challenges and what people says about me despite of that and my father's painful words not agreeing to support my studies, heartbreaking break-ups hahaha. Those times that we have nothing but just utang here and there, I survived. And whenever I feel down, I just always think of what Dory says in the movie, Finding Nemo, "When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do? Just keep swimming!".
I kept swimming in life and it brought me to where I am right now. With the support of my friends of course, my strength my family, the "special one" who have became my shoulders and wall for everything, I can say I survive! And happily kicking life throughout. I thank you Lord the most.. for these wonderful people who surrounds me and keep me sane despite of the crazy times I've had and will have.
My father is not a firmly believer of education yet I did my best to proved him wrong. I got my associate degree from Datamex Mandaue last 2014. I wanted to get my bachelor's degree but its a work in progress. One of my main goal while joining this platform is to earn in addition to the money I am saving right now. Indeed I was blessed having my job to keep me and my family afloat.
Due to pandemic, my mother lost her job and stayed at home as housewife. However, since she used to love baking, we then decided to reborn her passion on it and start a little business. I supported her with all her needs, bought her an oven to use, manage her page in facebook and start selling. She was surprised, we're very happy that we have arisen the hope to start something new amidst pandemic.
A gentle reminder, please don't hate your parents if they can't afford to pay for your education or they don't believe in it. They may have been brought up that way but that doesn't mean that you will have the same mindset. Prove them that you can make your own decision and work hard for it.
