And The Flies Have It!

This week we watched the VP “debate” between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence. It consisted mainly of the two candidates blaming one another’s party and dodging anything that resembled a question for the entire ninety frustrating minutes.

This just drove the point home that these two parties should be working for us and trying to get us out of the mess we’re in instead of fighting one another. I don’t even know how the event could even be called debates anymore. It would be much more effective to give each candidate an equal amount of free TV time to lay out their plans to the American people, infomercial-style.

The star of the entire ninety minutes was a fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head and stayed there for a whole two minutes. Before it left his head fly memes were swarming social media. Mike Pence will be forever known as the guy the fly landed on during the debates. What a potent metaphor for the state of politics in America. Looks like the flies have it. Horrible pun, I know.

Dad Joke Incoming!

We can all use a little more humor in our lives, right? I remember a few years back when we were all having a tough time on the once beloved blockchain-based blogging platform that begins with “S” I ran a regular humor series called, Cringe Worthy Joke of the Week. I think it’s about time to revive that little tradition. So here we go:

Ronald Reagan was visiting England and traveling in a horse drawn coach with the Queen Elizabeth II. They were smiling and waving to the crowds when one of the horses broke wind violently and the two were forced to continue acknowledging the crowds with wrinkled noses enduring a terrible smell.

“I do apologise Mr President” said the Queen to which Reagan replied: “That’s quite alright your majesty, I thought it was the horse.”

Book Update

Now that the manuscript is in the very capable hands of Lubosh, my book designer, I can focus on marketing and other aspects of the book launch.

Most of you probably remember the massive success of CryptoKitties a few years back. That phenomena sparked a deluge of tokenized art being offered for sale on sites like SuperRare that allow artists to auction off their tokenized digital art using the Ethereum blockchain.

This made me think, Why should the artists have all the fun? and started brainstorming about how this same method could be potentially used by authors to tokenize an entire book. Yesterday I reached out to @opheliafu and @roelandp to share the idea and get some valuable feedback.

As far as I can tell, it doesn’t look like a book has ever been tokenized, but I’m excited to say it looks like it may be possible. If all goes as planned I’ll be auctioning off a very limited run of 10-to-25 autographed, tokenized copies of Mindful Moments. More on this to come.

That’s all for now.

What’s your plan for the weekend?

With Gratitude,
