Unfortunately, Christmas came with some bad news for our family. Both my dear uncle and aunt passed hours from each other. My heart ached so much as my earliest memories of them included getting my first ever Barbie doll from them as a gift. A couple of hours later my daughter received a call that her uncle had passed as well. Truly such heartbreaking news arrives in 3’s as the saying goes. I asked my father if we should cancel our Christmas dinner and he said that’s not what his brother would have wanted so we proceeded with our mini celebration and honored them while doing so.
All the stress of the day’s events must have tickled my immune system because I started feeling a bit sniffley. I reached into my pantry for the best homemade anti sniffle tea ingredients that always help cut a cold if taken early!
Brew yourself a strong cup of green tea. I prefer Dragon Pearl Jasmine as it is bursting with antioxidants.
To it I add a tablespoon of grated fresh ginger...
A teaspoon of raw honey and the juice of half a lemon.
To this I add a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and I drink it while it’s still hot as these ingredients help to thin mucus, relieve congestion and are warming to your body. Drink this at least 4 times a day when you feel a cold coming on and I promise you will feel some relief!
