Let’s Make Cinnamon Vanilla Oat Milk! ~ Recipe

img_5845.jpg
I always like to store oats in large quantities. Oats keep extremely well in glass jars in a cool pantry or even refrigerated. Not only can you grind them to use as a flour substitute but they make a delicious dairy or nut milk alternative!
Want to see how it’s done? Ok let’s go!

Ingredients
2 cups raw oats
1/4 teaspoon sea salt

img_5843.jpg
1 stick cinnamon
1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
1 gallon spring water
Dates or organic maple syrup (optional)

Directions

  1. Add oatmeal, cinnamon, salt, vanilla and 4 cups water to blender. If you like it sweetened now it’s time to add your dates or maple syrup to taste.
  2. Purée on high until cinnamon stick has been turned into small pieces.
  3. Place a cheesecloth on a colander over a 1 gallon pitcher or any receptacle that holds 1 gallon.
  4. Pour mixture over colander slowly using a spoon to move it around to help it flow easier.
  5. Keep adding water over your mixture in the colander pressing it with a spoon and eventually squeezing out all liquid from your “slurry” using your cheesecloth.
  6. Refrigerate and serve cold!

Oat milk can be kept for a week refrigerated although I promise you it won’t last that long! It’s delicious!
Do you ever make milk alternatives?
May your home be filled with warmth, your pantry full and may you always have good health!
