# En casa tenemos equipos electrónicos y deseamos cuidarlos, el quedarnos sin energía eléctrica es un problema desagradable, pero que la energía eléctrica se vaya y vuelva rápidamente y en ocasiones produzca picos fuertes o fluctuaciones, puede traer como consecuencia que algunos equipos se puedan dañar. Todos conocemos los protectores y reguladores de voltaje, pero creo que también conocemos la triste historia de alguien cercano que aun teniendo uno de estos o ambos, sufrió porque se le dañó algún equipo, lo que pone en nuestra lista de compras algo que no se tenía pensado volver a adquirir próximamente. ![IMG_20230929_192225_514.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/actioncats/AKuoLDsEmZqvt6QaiiFDp8xaeEmJPovWciGvBHhVQ6c2TQEwcW6UL739Hr8jbX4.jpg) Hace unas semanas, no recuerdo exactamente cuantas, durante un miércoles se produjo lo que creí era un bajón en la zona, ya que hay un transformador en terapia intensiva, pero tras leer varios grupos de la zona y de conversar con otra hiver del estado Sucre, descubrí que fue algo a nivel nacional, ese día si no me equivoco fueron 7 sustos, entre bajones, apagones y picos de corriente, que no duraban muchos minutos y luego volvía la electricidad. Viendo que por lo menos dos veces a la semana se están presentando apagones, he venido pensando en una capa extra de protección, sobre todo para mis computadoras, porque todo parece indicar que esto continuara y la prioridad es cuidar mis equipos porque son mis herramientas de trabajo y si se dañan no tengo como reemplazarlos de manera inmediata.

Ahora bien, mi esposo me había comentado que conservaba un UPS, pero que le faltaba la batería, yo no le había dado mayor importancia porque no había hecho falta, pero con este tema de los bajones y picos, decimos buscarlo y comprar la batería. El UPS es de la marca APC modelo BE650G, discontinuado desde el año pasado por la empresa, pero cumple con la función que deseamos. Así este miércoles fuimos a una tienda donde mi hijo vio la batería, la compramos en 16 $, por cierto, aceptan USDT, si este equipo pasaba antes de tener la batería no se imaginan cuanto pesa luego de colocársela, pero es compresible por la función que realiza y la batería que tiene.

De la misma manera, compramos unos pie de amigo para colocarlo en la pared a cierta altura debajo de mi setup, ya que no me gusta tener ninguno de estos equipos en el suelo, además hay que hacer unos arreglos estéticos para cubrir los huecos de los ramplug que sostenían la regleta que estaba allí, pero ya tengo mis dos reguladores de voltaje conectados al UPS, así cuando se presente algún bajón o apagón, tendré unos minutos para guardar lo que esté trabajando y apagar mis equipos como se debe, la ficha técnica del producto se las dejo [aquí]( https://www.apc.com/co/es/product/BE650G/apc-backups-650/) señala la misma que como máximo son 65 minutos de uso y que tarda en cargar 16 horas. Terminando, aunque desearía uno que durara mayor cantidad de horas, este me auxiliara y permitirá guardar mis trabajos y hasta programar la hora de una publicación y lo más importante cuidar mis equipos, ya no es nada agradable estar trabajando y ver como de repente tu pantalla queda en negro, además de que de inmediato se piensa en el daño que este pico pudo causar al equipo.
