The night of Lailatul Qadar is one of the nights in Ramadan that is highly anticipated by all Muslims not only in Indonesia, but also Muslims around the world. Why are Muslims so looking forward to that night?
The night of Lailatul Qadar was a very special evening. Special because in it there is a glory and blessing that is really abundant. Even so noble, the night is considered better than a thousand months.
Allah SWT says in Quran Surah Al-Qadar verse 97, "Verily We have sent it down (the Qur'an) on the night of glory. And for anyone who worships in the night the Qur'an decreases this the reward will be multiplied more than 29,500 fold. Which is equivalent to continuous worship for more than a thousand months or for 83 years.
On this night also descend angels who bring mercy to the earth as well as the angel Gabriel with the permission of Allah SWT to govern all affairs. This is why the night of Lailatul Qadar is also a night of blessing and prosperity until dawn.
Abu Hurairah, of the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, "Whoever carries on the night of Lailatul Qadar by faith and wishes the reward of Allah, his sins will be forgiven."
An annual destiny was recorded on the night of Lailatul Qadar. Allah (SWT) said in the Quran Surah Ad Dukhan, "On that night is explained all wise affairs."
Because the night of Lailatul Qadar is so special, tonight is made secret by Allah SWT. We will never know when exactly the night of Lailatul Qadar will come. Nevertheless, the scholars explain that the night of Lailatul Qadar is found on one of the odd nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan. As an explanation in one of the hadiths, "The Prophet SAW is very earnest in the last 10 days of Ramadan, surpassing his sincerity at other times."
