Thank you Rose Prescott for giving me a heads up Koby Bryant sadly passed away in a helicopter crash.
Was doing so poking around for a local source and came up this in a local source as reported by KTLA Channel 5 news.
There is an oddity to this story I'll show after the KTLA report. Will put link in comments of Originator Post.
"Kobe Bryant, the 18-time NBA All-Star who won five championships and became one of the greatest basketball players of his generation during a 20-year career spent entirely with the Los Angeles Lakers, died in a helicopter crash Sunday. He was 41."
"Bryant died in a helicopter crash near Calabasas, California, a source told The Associated Press. It was unclear if family members were on the helicopter."
Please pray for his family and friends, never easy and only 41 years old.

Rumors of the basketball player’s alleged demise gained traction on Friday after a ‘R.I.P. Kobe Bryant’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the American basketball player’s passing:
“At about 11 a.m. ET on Friday (January 24, 2020), our beloved basketball player Kobe Bryant passed away. Kobe Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 41-year-old basketball player was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.
Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major American network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of a basketball player of Kobe Bryant's stature would be major news across networks.

On Saturday (January 25) the basketball player's reps officially confirmed that Kobe Bryant is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.
Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless.
Now I must point out there is a link on the massmedia site stating they are a satire site.

According to New York Post
Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, was not among those aboard the chopper, according to reports.
Very sad for her mother and family.
Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was also among those killed, according to TMZ.

Just interesting because Kobe Bryant had that peanut commercial for the smart car "Catch Me If you Can!" That wouldn't be a play on words would it. . .because there is a tie in to a Ukraine car company, MODES of transportation and child sex trafficking issues literally all over the MAP.
