If Content is King

Then video is the King of Kings ... as it's become very apparent in 2022. Earlier times of the world wide web were focused on content that could be pushed down limited bandwidth, resulting in a race for innovation and the website technologies we have today. This gave us text, images, animation, online stores and loads of utility. However, it was always only a matter of time when video streaming would become the King of Kings, that the Internet was bound to evolve into the main source of not only information, but entertainment. These days, it's no longer just the information superhighway. 'Tis more of the full gamut of media, entertainment, streaming, and information ... it should be renamed!

So why single out this video?

Bare with me as I reach a point. It's something to make clear rather than just citing this as a 'cool video'. The artistic and production qualities are what really stands out. Here's what I believe makes this an utterly standout piece of content:

  • It's under 5 mins, a quick video snack - yet indulges us with such imagery and sounds many 30 min car videos aren't this rich
  • The photography, videography and directing/production are top level. The way the car is lit going down the Tokyo highways is absolutely bursting with atmosphere and cinematic quality.
  • They don't speak a word the whole thing, the viewer is left to go and discover more themselves. The ultimate teaser

So there we have it in 3 short simple points. Hopefully this is a useful use-case to you, and has been created in order to preserve this example of what we feel to be a near-perfect piece of content for YouTube and similar platforms. Plus, basically @newtonclassics felt this was one very unique and different piece of content to your typical YouTube car vlog. It's such a sweet and bangin' vid, we wanted to share it.

Here's the video to check out. Let us know in the comments what you think, do you agree it's well made? Does anything stand out which could be done better in terms of promotional reach, the content itself etc? Or have we totally overreacted just because we like Kawaii stuff and cool Hondas? Let me know!
