This is a Kapampangan song I recall from childhood memories. Whenever it rains, we sing this song. I am not even sure if Mumuran is the correct title. What's important is, because of the rhymes the song is so much fun to sing and recall. Mumuran means raining and magkanta is singing. So, looking at the drawing I made you will get an idea about who sings when it rains:
- asan or fish
- itik or duckling
- tugak or frog
- kabayo or horse
I remember my cheeks are aching laughing everytime we sing this song when it rains. My young mind finds it fascinating imagining all the enumerated animals above singing when it rains. I guess that's how simple children's song are made, they make you smile and feel happy regardless of their meaning.
