The characteristics of an entrepreneur are never ending. These characteristics can also be hard too acquire for most and it seems as if entrepreneurs are born with them. The movie The FountainHead highlights a lot of characteristics that entrepreneurs have, but it touches on one that might be most important. The movie highlights the characteristic of being a risk taker. As en entrepreneur, being a risk taker is a foundation block that most have to be willing to perform. In the movie, The main character has a vision of his architecture that no one else could quite see but him. All the other architect's were against his innovations on how building should be built. Even when the lady he liked tried to change his mind, he told her he would take the risk no matter what happened. this is what it takes for him to conquer the leaps and bounds there is in order to be an entrepreneur. Even after he was told no, and threats were made against him, he did not allow those who could not see what he saw to stop him. This is the foundation of an entrepreneur. Do not stop until you achieve your goals, even if you have to risk everything. The pressures and limitations that there was back then still apply to this day and time. That is what makes this topic so interesting. As people, we do not accept change very well, but we are all thankful for it. We are not comfortable being uncomfortable. This is difficult for entrepreneurs to overcome. This is true for Howard when it came to his architecture. He had to overcome public opinion in order to begin his work. Once he was able to build his visions, people begin to love them. Imagine what society would be like today if entrepreneurs did not take risk and overcome the negativity around them. Everything around us would not be the same. Everything that surrounds us is from someone taking a risk and succeeding. Think about the inventions that we all love today. The new cellphone is the result of someone having the idea of a portable phone. Im sure that when this idea was first brought to light, all those around him did not believe that it was possible. Fortunately for us, that person took the risk so we could have them today. When looking at a present day entrepreneur who to a risk and is doing a great deal of assistance to society I think of Elon Musk. He started Tesla, an electric car company, even when no one had done it before. He is continue to innovate and branch out and create new ways to help people. He continues to take risk in order to innovate. This is true for the architect in the movie. Through the entire movie, he is consistently told that his work would never see the light of the day. By the end of the movie, his work is sought for from several developers. His risk, generated a whole new look upon architecture. This would never had been possible if he had not stayed consistent in being a risk taker.
