How to create a good post on steemit / Come creare un buon post su steemit

[ENG]

Welcome back to my Steemit profile! I have been reading with care many posts both in Italian and in English for some time. By the term “care” I mean checking how the posts were designed and how they were written, also from grammatical and lexical point of view.

Between one reading and another, I realized that many of these articles that could have been much more successful, for little trifles remain there, with few upvotes and unknown to the world. Often, unfortunately, who has this kind of problem is usually new members. They think they are satisfied with their work, but then… They realize their disappointment and stop writing.

Platforms like Steemit, or simple blogs, are not always easy to understand. Sometimes you need help, especially in markdown codes (html) or regarding the layout. But now, after saying all this… What’s my goal today?

It is to show you how to create a quality post. With quality posts I do not mean to write articles of ten thousand words, but to simply provide the reader with information set in a certain context taking care of the details. Hoping this tutorial could be of use to you in the future, these are my suggestions.

How to create a good post on steemit

Creating a good post is not always easy because the post structure changes according to what we want to express. The key points are the following: the objective and the subject of the post, the language and its graphic form. Let’s see it point by point.

The objective of the post

The first thing we have to consider is what we want to show: pictures, illustrations or just a story. These can be some examples.

In the case of a photographic collection, I have often seen that many open steemit, paste their photos and write: here is my trip to the mountains.

Example:

Here is my trip to the mountains <3
In your opinion, is this a good quality post?
Obviously not, although the picture is beautiful.

We are all good at taking a photo and pasting it on a page of a blog. The details are what lead us to get an extra gear. Maybe you can put the same picture, but over it you can write: Today is Sunday, there is the sun and you can admire a fantastic panorama…

Then below you can put the shooting data of your photo so as to give the details to all interested (if it is only a picture).

An example of very good photographic post could be this.

In the case of illustrations it is even simpler.
Just put your work, write what led you to make that drawing, your emotions and, if you have them, all the photos of your work in progress.

An example could be this.

What about the stories?
Here it’s up to your imagination. Be it the a thriller story, romantic story, fantasy story, be it a poem or a story of your day.
Here you can go wild at your leisure, after all it is your work. The only advice I can give you is to embellish it with pictures, so make your reading less heavy.

An example could be this.

Now let’s move on to the next step.

The language

Whether you write in Italian, English, Spanish, German or any other language, what must be clear is that the form of your text must be correct. Commas, accents, apostrophes and verbal forms must be the right ones. Already this point will lead you to have a greater interest from your reader. After working on language, you’re almost ready.

Now all you have to do is decorate it graphically.

The graphic form

To make a perfect post, you also have to think about making it presentable.

A title in bold, for example, is a good start, then you can put lines of division, enlarge your text, or simply add some images as in the mentioned case of stories.

To help you here I’ll show you which markdowns are most used, so you can write easily.

Bold text: <b>text here</br>
Italic text: <i>text here</i>
Centered text: <center>text here</center>
Text to the right (for columns): <div class="pull-right">text here</div>
Text to the left (for columns): <div class="pull-left">text here</div>
Write in red: <div class=phishy>text here</div>
Start a new paragraph or put space between two sentences: <br> or <p>
Simple line of division: <hr>
To enlarge the text: <
h1>text here</h1> (you can use h1, h2, h3. h1>h3)
To insert a source of an image: <
a href="link of the image (or other links)">Source of the image<*/a> (remove *)

Okay, now you’re ready. Your post will be more beautiful than ever.
However, there is always a but…
There is a fourth point. Always to be considered: the copyright...

The copyright

Maybe you do not consider it very important, but copyright is the most important detail to be taken into account.
There is no way that you can use things of others without their permission, not to mention that on steemit you must always post original works.

Know that if you simply copy an article from your blog and paste it on steemit, you will be commented on by @Cheetah or segnaleted by the @Jaguar.Force team, who detect the plagiarism and non-original works. No plagiarism or copies of other articles, even if yours, is accepted in any way. In fact, if we consider the photos, under each image we must always define where they were taken.

If you use the google search bar just select the images with right of re-use and you will see that you will never have any problems. For your own images, instead, I recommend a string of text that says that everything that is not marked on your page belongs to you.
Here is an example:

Now you no longer have anything to worry about, but on the contrary you can’t wait to see how much your efforts are appreciated.

There are many communities in the world of Steemit. In these communities there are curators who take care of selecting the most beautiful and well-made posts. If you like, you can get an interesting vote from some whales:)

Here I list some communities I know:

For only Italian users there’the large community of SPI;
For all the users there’is the community of @Curie, @Discovery-it, @C-squared and @itastem;
For science posts it is highly recommended to follow the @SteemSTEM community;

These are just an example of the large communities present.

As you can see, there are many things to know. Especially for newcomers.
I hope you enjoyed this post and that it will be useful to you.
And now... Go to the end of the post for a surprise :)

Esempio:

Scritta in rosso: <div class=phishy>text here</div>
h1>text here</h1> (potete usare h1, h2, h3. h1>h3)
Per inserire la fonte di un'immagine: <
a href="link dell'immagine (or altri tipo di link)">Fonte dell'immagine </a*> (rimuovi *)

Ok, ora siete pronti.

Per gli utenti italiani c’è la grande community di SPI;
Per gli utenti di tutto il mondo c’è la community di @Curie, @Discovery-it, @C-squared e @itastem;
Per i post di scienza è altamente consigliato seguire la community di @SteemSTEM;
