Malapascua Island is located in the northern part of Cebu. It took a 4 to 5-hour drive by car to reach the port of Maya.
Then from Maya port. You'll travel by pumped boat for 30 minutes depending on the weather condition.
Malapascua is quite a famous island for its natural island beauty, fewer people and for divers who love to dive with thresher sharks. This is our fave to go place aside from Moalboal.
Since the pandemic began. We never had the chance to visit the island for some months.
It's so exciting to see a lot of changes in Malapascua. They have their port now which is good. But, I still prefer the beachfront welcome Island style docking.
Anyway, we stayed at this place. It's not beachfront accommodation this time but we're in the centre of the village. Ras found this place sometime when our Swedish friends came to visit before the pandemic. We mostly stayed at the beachfront before.
Since the pandemic, Some of the shops were closed. But, there's a new establishment built.
A bakery, ATM Machine, A money remittance and even a local lottery.
Amazing isn't it?
I just hope that a pharmacy will be built one day.
A guy selling some shirts with his dog. They are so cute.
Signage going to the village.
The local Kitchen style.
Chilling dog πΆπ
Always remember to wash your hands π
Drying some laundry!
Even though there's a lot of progress on the island. I still love to see these small things that local has been doing. This makes sense of how an island looked like before foreigners and local tourists invaded the place. π₯΄ Well, more tourist attractions, more jobs for people. So, it's still a win-win situation.
Now, it's time to look around and head to the coast.
This picture was taken at the back beach area of the island. Mostly. where the local boats are being restored. The normal authentic life of the Islanders of which you will never see it from the front beach where mostly resorts restaurant has been built.
A ton of water gallons on the boat for deliveries.
The dog Islanders π
The fishermen's net and their catch.
These two lovely kids swimming catching some small fish. We asked them if they could find some shells for us.
And look what they've got for us! These beautiful shells π
The island trip would not be complete without this one here π»
Dried fish! A piece of HEAVEN πΌ
The Happy Islanders with their way of life. Simple yet amazing. No Faceshield or face mask. Living the authentic life. Surrounded by a beautiful white beach, an abundance of fish from the ocean.
Let's explore the Bounty beach or the beachfront ππ£β
I have never been to Kalanggaman island. But, Ras had been there. I'm really afraid of a small boat that time when he went there with our friend. so, I stayed behind. Since we are coming to the island more often. We know some good divers there, the happy place to go and some beautiful people. There's was a time when this group of divers invited me to come along with them as they will go for an adventure in Carnaza island while I was waiting for Ras to be back from his dive. I refused to join. rather, I was basking under the sun enjoying the island life reading books and listening to some good music on my playlist.
Since the pandemic, few places were open for businesses.
I will never get tired of this amazingly peaceful place π₯°
I'm not an island or beach girl for sure. But, I wouldn't mind living here for some time π€©
While Ras went for his dive for the day. I was left behind on the front beach enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. While waiting for him to be back β¬ οΈ
The waiting game wouldn't be complete without a Mango shake! I had like three glasses of Mango shake that time.
White sand and happy Islander feet π£
We are so unfortunate for the sundown coz every time we visited the island. It seems to have a beautiful blue sky during the day and a bit gloomy sunset in the afternoon.
The lighthouse. It's been a quiet walk from the bounty beach. And it's just a beautiful walk where you'll see another side of the islanders.
It's one of the best places to go in Cebu if you want to experience calmness, enjoyment and relaxation in between.
The island life as it's best πππ£βπ
