Islamic Beliefs

The beliefs of an Islamic culture are very interesting and diverse. From the Five Pillars of Islam, to the real meaning of Jihad, there are several aspects of Islam that are often misunderstood. The beliefs of Islam can even clash with other societies in matters such as polygyny and multiple wives. Time is spent greatly in prayer, meditation, and spiritual searching. Exploring and gaining respect for Islam is done by carefully studying and understanding.
The Five Pillars of Islam are the foundation of life for the Muslims. Faith/belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of Muhammad (An important Prophet) The establishment of the daily prayer that occurs five times. Concern of the needy Achieving self-purification through fasting and The pilgrimage to Makkah (for those who are able) “Iman” represents faith, “Salah” represents prayer, “Zakah” represents the financial obligations of Muslims, “Sawn” represents fasting, and “Hajj” represents the pilgrimage. Iman or faith, can be called a declaration of Shahadah, or a simple formula that all the faithful pronounce. The significance of it is the belief that the only purpose of life is to serve and obey God.
