Maarif Syahed is a media activist in Aceh, since 1998 where the conflict period in Aceh has been raging since 2997 and ended with the signing of the MoU between GAM and the Government of Indonesia.
I have published an alternative media on IAIN Ar Raniry campus, titled Tajam in 1998, then during the Acehnese martial law in Aceh published Beudoh Tabloid which was then bredel by the martial law ruler of that era.
Military Emergency Rulers who imposed double standards on journalists in Aceh made Beudoh Tabloid retreat from the press in Aceh in 2003. Along with the onslaught of security operations in Aceh that saved the lives of the people of Aceh at that time, made me go back to Jakarta and join the Activist movement from Jakarta and Jogja.
It currently manages media editors acehnews.co that focus on economic, political, cultural and social news in Aceh. I discussed Steemit from Taufik Al Mubarak @acehpungo and Misdarul Ihsa @azzamysyauqi.
