I learned about Steemit from my husband (@tarack ) and joined yesterday, intrigued by the concept of a cryptocurrency-socialmedia mashup and wondering if there was a creative community here. Venus de Hilo is a name I began using a few years ago for my creative business while living in Hilo, Hawaii. Although I moved from Hawaii back to the mainland US last winter (a story I'll share in another post), I'll remain "Venus de Hilo" forever in my creative and online lives.
In recent years that creativity has mostly been focused on quilt making. I find it strangely satisfying to cut up beautiful fabrics and sew the pieces back together:
