Hello Steemit! I'm @tagalong, a community curation account dedicated to helping clean up popular tag feeds through a system of kindly warning, and flagging or rewarding based on the response. The goal is to educate new users on how to use Steemit's tags system correctly!
Here's a little bit about me.
To assist with the efforts of @steemcleaners, @steemflagrewards and other flagging accounts through manual submission and review of content that is specifically mis-tagged using the popular tags list via a manual system of warning, flagging, and rewarding. By focusing on tagging specifically, @tagalong will be able to take some of the burden off of SC and SFR while increasing effectiveness in addressing mis-tagged content.
The post must be from an author who is a repeat offender of mis-tagging.
No first time offenses! (We all make mistakes sometimes)
All content in the post (photos, video or otherwise) must be manually reviewed to verify that tags are truly inaccurate.
@tagalong is a non-profit project, meaning that all funds and delegation will either go into the project itself or back to the delegation/curation community. Due to the startup nature of the project, these features won’t be immediately available, though they are planned.
Long-term goal is to be able to reward curators a finder’s fee for assisting in the finding and correction of mis-tagged content.
The same goal is planned for delegators, proportional to their delegation.
@tagalong has a Discord server where approved and trusted curators will be able to submit posts for review.
Once a post has been verified to have been authored by a repeat offender, the post will be commented on from the @tagalong account with a warning about the inaccurate tag and a process for remedying it.
If no action is taken within the established time-frame (variable, shorter times for repeat offenders), then the post will be flagged by the @tagalong account with a strength proportionate to the number of incorrect tags (if a full 5 tags, 1 tag = 20%, 2 tags = 40%, and so on) up to and not exceeding a percentage that would take the rewards to zero.
If, in the event that the author remedies the mis-categorization of their post, their post will be upvoted with 10% of @tagalong’s voting strength as a show of good faith. This will only happen on the first @tagalong offense.
You! We need your help through delegation primarily (quick links, make sure to leave 50SP undelegated: 50SP, 100SP, 250SP, 500SP). This project is being kick-started by a plankton who has seen how mis-tagged posts are affecting the feeds they follow and post to. Because of this, it is starting with a hurdle to overcome.
@tagalong needs a boost for several reasons: to start combatting mis-tagging and to prevent malicious action against the account. The minimum SP goal to begin flagging is 300SP, a mere 6 delegators of 50SP apiece.
If you do not have the SP to delegate, we also need help assisting with curation. To assist with curation you have to be of good reputation within the community (51 rep or higher) and have an excellent record of engagement with Steemit creators.
