Introducing Mumbang Coleen, the Female Botanist championing floral conservation and environmental protection in Cameroon

Self Introduction - Mumbang Coleen

Mumbang Coleen is a Cameroonian born in Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. She is a holder of an M.Sc. in Botany and currently undertaking a Ph.D study in Botany in the University of Buea while serving as Director of Projects and Programs at The Greens (@thegreens).

Besides serving at The Greens, Mumbang has served as a volunteer for some community-based nonprofit organizations, and some of her key achievements include the development and implementation of the survey in conserving mangrove of the Cameroon estuary, scientific research and publication on the assessing local perceptions of climate change impact on Health in Fako Division, Cameroon. She is very passionate about flora conservation and serves as one of the key actors in mangrove conservation in the South West Region Cameroon.

As a researcher, Mumbang is one of those championing research in mangrove conservation and climate change, ecology, and forest cover change in the South West Region of Cameroon and also reputable young environmental activist in the nation..
She has a strong passion for protecting the environment and her dream is to educate women and girls to effectively understand the importance of nature conservation and take the lead in protecting the environment.

Mumbang enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, listening to music, sports, watching movies, swimming and hanging around with friends.

She is self-motivated, flexible, funny and keen to learning new things. Mumbang is interested in blogging about homesteading, nature, travel, environment, botany as well as sharing her stories about her educating and engaging communities and most especially women and girls in environmental protection. She hopes to connect with Steemians who have passion in environmental protection, women and girls empowerment, homesteading, nature lovers and people who want to contribute in making the world a better place.
