Introduction to Dear Secret - We're hear to Anonymously Share your Secrets!

Dear Steem,

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. I have been around Steem for a fair amount of time. Though this is a new account, for a specific purpose.

I have been looking for my niche, and I believe I have found it. I am here to be your Ghost Writer.

You see. I came across this old post from one of my favorite Steemians, @stellabelle. She spent some time accepting Steemians deepest darkest secrets, and publishing them anonymously. You can check out some of the stories that were shared by going to asksteem.com and search secret-writer. Here's a LINK if you want to go straight to the results page. There are some pretty cool stories in there.

Unfortunately, it has been some time since the last secret-writer post. So without any prior consent from Stellabelle, I have chosen to take up the mantle of Secret story sharer.

What Stella set up was pretty successful, so I am going to follow her lead pretty much to every point.

  • What is Dear Secret?
Dear Secret is a Ghost publishing service where you can share your deepest darkest secret from the cover of Dear Secret's user account. Your identity will not be revealed at any point, your secret is safe with us!

  • How do I submit a Secret?
You can submit a secret by emailing your secret to dearsecret@protonmail.com. Submissions can be anything from a basic outline of the story, which we will flesh out into a full post complete with appropriate accompanying pictures. Or you could send us your fully formed complete ready to publish post. If you choose this latter course, the suggestion would be to use a tool such as hackmd.io and simply send the link to your story by email.
  • How do I benefit by sharing my secret?
All secrets will be published as 50/50 reward posts. All liquid proceeds from the post will be sent to the secret sharer. This can be in the form of SBD, Steem or BTC. Please include the appropriate wallet address for us to send payment to when submitting your secret. We will not transfer SBD within Steem as the anonymity factor would be lost. Keep in mind, any coin other than SBD will incur transaction fees in converting the SBD to alternate forms of crypto. These will reduce your potential payout. Should you not provide a crypto address before post payout, we will assume that the liquid rewards are being donated to the Dear Secret cause and it will be converted to Steem Power.

  • When will my secret be published?
This will depend largely on the number of secrets received, and the state of the secret you send. The more "ready to print" what you send to us is, the more quickly we can turn it out. We would also expect that in the beginning, while the audience is small, we will be able to turn these out more quickly. It all depends on how many submissions we get.
  • Why should I send you my secret instead of posting myself?
You shouldn't! We would encourage you to post your own secrets on your own account, so you reap the most benefits! This service is for those with secrets the want to keep anonymous, but are too good not to be shared.
  • Is there any Secret you will not publish?
Yes. We will not post anything that is the result of a felony crime. Anything which could lead to us being called to testify in a court of law is not acceptable.
  • Does the story have to be my own?
Yes. Or we must have verifiable consent from the person the story does involve. We will not publish a piece without the consent of the primary actor of the story.
  • How will you know if the story is true?
We won't. This is a act of faith. You have to live with yourself if you use our service to publish a false story. Fiction stories should not be submitted to us, and should be published as such on your own blog.

Final Thoughts

By emailing your story to dearsecret@protonmail.com you consent to have your story shared on the blockchain in an anonymous way. You relinquish the right to hold Dear Secret at fault for any potential repercussions from the publication of your story.

Dear secret will make every effort to keep your secret anonymous, but we cannot guarantee that people will not figure out whose story we are sharing. It is up to the submitter to phrase the story in such a way as to maintain their own anonymity.

We hope this service will provide some wonderful, intriguing stories with the population of Steem. Get your stories in our email box so we can start sharing!
