I decided to concentrate on curating the #inktober hashtag challenge. This is a challenge to draw a picture a day for the month of October. Jake Parker started the game in 2009 and it quickly became one of the most popular hashtag challenges on the Internet.

HIVE is a good platform for rewarding hashtag games. I contend that if HIVE did a good job curating inktober, that we might be able to use the success to pull people who are interested in such games into the platform.
I really wanted to write a program that would let me pull in all of the posts for the game the HIVE API (BEEM, etc). Such a program should be simple. I should be able to run a script that pulled in all of the posts for a given tag. The script should pull in related alt coins, vote totals, etc.
I've been having a bear of a time getting such a script running.
A while back I developed a script that would parse the pages on steemd.com . I thought I could run that on hiveblocks.com, but hiveblocks.com was down for the start of the month.
I finally decided to tally up the curation manually. This process is long and tedious and prone to errors.
The first report shows that we have had 69 entries on Hive so far. These entries have received $708 in rewards. That is an average of over $10 per drawing! (The artist gets half of the reward and curator half).
We won't know the actual payout for a post until seven days after publication. I suspect that the end numbers will be even better.
I was hoping that Inktober would bring traffic to the CreativeCoin Tribe. In the CCC column I show the CCC rewards for the post multiplied by $0.004 which I calculate as the current price of CCC. The contest has delivered 804 CCC, but the CCC is worth only about $3.71.

I started drawing some pictures but I decided I needed to finish the curation system before I work on the pictures. Hopefully I will get time to work on my pictures tomorrow.
