Is It Like a Water Dam?

- 05:35 PM - What is the Internet Kill Switch (IKS)? - Can the FBI Shut Down the Internet? - Do you know how computers work? The internet is a series of servers. Your computer can be a server. You can connect two computers up to each other, directly via wires or even wirelessly. Can the switch get between two computers that are in the same room? My question is all about at what levels the switches may be located at, whether that be with big companies like Comcast, AT&T, or with others. The switch may be located on many computers and activated via a backdoor. But the question is which computers, which servers. The question is all about whether those switches can be disabled, blocked, modified, at all. Some might say that the switch is pulled via viruses or whatever you want to call it. But does Linux have viruses? If they do, then it's probably not as bad as Apple and Microsoft - Obama's Internet Kill Switch - This BBC article talks about Obama's so-called Internet Kill Switch, but it doesn't really tell you what it is or anything like that - Internet Kill Switch Remedy - Could we launch decentralized satellites that could establish Internet that bypasses the corporate gatekeepers of the Internet infrastructure? People are working on that - Nexus Conference 2017 - People are working on these types of projects in order to bring even more Internet to third world countries and in order to serve as backup in case Internet is shut down in first world countries - Levels of the Kill Switch - There are several layers or levels to the Internet. There is the Domain Name System (DNS) which translates the IP Addresses into Domain names like Google.com for example. A kill switch might be able to disable DNS servers. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is a system that tells the routers how to find IP addresses. So, a kill switch might be able to disable elements of BGP, the routers, for example. You can also look at ICANN. Please note that phone companies rely on the Internet. This means that if you were to shut down the Internet, you would shut down or disable phone infrastructure. Also, the same people that would shut down the Internet also rely on the Internet as well which means not all of it would be shut down. They still need to use the Internet, themselves. Yes, there are internet kill switches, like dams in a river. It depends on the countries and on the details. You can connect a computer directly to another computer, for example. Would a kill switch be able to get between two local computers? That's a good question. It's a long story and this is just my rough draft article on this subject. This is just an introduction to the subject. I may write future articles about this in the future. For now, I just want people to know that this topic is not as simple as some may think. There are things we can do to get around kill switches, firewalls, blocks, censorship, attacks, Trojan viruses, bugs, etc.
