The Covid-hypocrisy of the media.

I have not been a big fan of the stay indoors stay safe movement, especially when more information comes out and it is appearing as though all of those efforts didn't actually have any affect on the virus at all. Then there is the case of Sweden and although the initial surge was higher, even the person who released the initial figures stating that millions would die admitted that social distancing measures were largely ineffective.

That is another topic though and one that has been discussed at great length. What I want to talk about is the media's glaring hypocrisy about social distancing in relation to protesting and how it is massively obvious that the media doesn't have any interest in social distancing when it comes to protests, they just don't want protests from "the wrong side" to be allowed.

I recall that scathing news stories about how the people protesting weren't wearing their masks or social distancing and they were going to be the death of all of us. They also fabricated information about massive rises in Covid cases in those communities even though there was little to no evidence to suggest that this was even remotely true. The image above is not from North Carolina but when we protested our governor's lockdown orders and even at times refused to abide by them, the media called us all selfish. Some of the more awful stations such as CNN went on to call us uneducated or hillbillies despite the fact that they don't even know anything about any of us.

In light of recent protests almost nothing is said about Covid at all because they never really had a problem with Covid spreading anyway it was all just an excuse to attempt to smear or silence a message that they don't agree with.

We were told it would be 14 days that we had to "shelter in place" - a term that I have grown to loathe and now refuse to do. That extended to 2 months and some states wanting to extend it even further. Rumors started to circulate that these mostly democrat controlled states were pushing for extended lockdowns in order to force a mail in election that conservatives complained would be riddled with fraud.

The opposition's message was largely ignored by the mostly left-leaning media and the protests against the lockdown were vilified and made fun of. They would edit footage to make the demonstrations seem as vile as possible and would even edit out any minorities to make it appear as though it was some sort of white power march, which it was not.

They wanted us to "stay home, stay safe" but what they really wanted was to silence any other opinion than their own to take away from what the actual message was... Until a protest came along that fits into their political narrative.

Now the media barely even mentions the fact that people are doing mass gatherings. Seriously, most stations wont even mention this. So there is one good thing that could come from this blatant hypocrisy: When these riots / protests are over, nobody will listen to any sort of quarantine nonsense, because either the media / government will have to admit that they were totally wrong / full of shit over the 'Rona or a lot of Democrats are going to get sick.

Congratulations protesters / media, you successfully eliminated Covid-19 from the USA! Hooray!

Consequentially, latest polls indicate that trust in the media by Americans is at an all time low, which ironically, was a poll taken by the media so the actual results are probably even lower than they reported.
