Jam menunjukkan pukul 24:00 WIB, seorang pria menabuh gong dan lonceng sebanyak tiga kali, sebagai tahun baru China telah tiba. Puluhan Warga etnis Tionghoa yang berdomisili di Kota Banda Aceh memadati Vihara Dharma Bhakti. Sekilas, mereka begitu khidmat menjalankan ritual keagamaan.
Asap dupa memenuhi seluruh ruangan, warga Tionghoa silih berganti melakukan doa dan sembahyang. Perayaan perganian musim semi itu terlihat damai, meski dikawal ketat oleh puluhan polisi bersenjata.
Layaknya perayaan hari raya keagamaan lainnya, perayaan tahun baru imlek di Banda Aceh lumayan meriah. Bahkan pada pagi harinya, warga Tionghoa silih berganti untuk melakukan ritual di vihara.
Bagi kepercayaan dan adat masyarakat China, tahun baru imlek tahun 2018 disebut juga sebagai tahun anjing tanah yang memiliki makna jujur dan adil, loyalitas dan kesetiaan, serta mampu bergaul di kalangan sosial. Oleh karena itu, pada tahun ini, warga Tionghoa juga berharap agar bisa mempererat tali silaturahmi antar sesama umat manusia juga dapat membuat masyarakat bekerja lebih giat.
Tidak hanya bagi warga Tionghoa semata, perayaan tahun baru Imlek juga turut mendapat antusias dari warga Banda Aceh yang Muslim. Mereka berbondong-bondong memadati kawasan Vihara untuk menyaksikan pelaksanaan Imlek atau sekedar memotret dan merekam kegiatan warga Tionghoa di hari besarnya.
Untuk sekedar diketahui, Vihara Dharma Bhakti di Banda Aceh sendiri telah melakukan perayaan Imlek sejak tahun 1918 silam dengan aman tanpa adanya gesekan meskipun hidup di tengah-tengah mayoritas masyarakat Muslim yang menerapkan Syariat Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Selain perayaan Imlek, kegiatan keagamaan lainnya juga tetap tidak dilarang. Inilah salah satu bentuk dan simbol toleransi yang ada di Aceh. Semoga kerukunan antar umat beragama terus terjalin di Banda Aceh.
