ICO's aka Initial Coin Offerings were one of the easiest way to double or triple your crypto investments. But that ship has sailed now, it is not the same anymore.
Why are ICO's not a safe bet anymore? because:
- Scams: Lot of ICO's out there are scams, they would create a hype with a big ass marketing campaign and most investors would pray to it. After all its not very tough to get the attention of crypto enthusiasts. this even led to Facebook to add a policy that they wouldn't let cryptocurrency related ads to be displayed on Facebook feed.
- Pump and Dump: There are always whales in every market, be it Steemit or be it the Crypto trading market. Whales would buy these tokens in mass during the presale and would dump them hard once they get listed on any exchange. The rich gets richer and the poor or minnows will suffer when the prices drops rock bottom.
Most ICO's out there are trading below the ICO prices now, apart from very few which performed upto expectations. Unless you wan't to take lots of risk and are certain and have 100% confidence don't go for ICO's instead you can go for bounty programs or Airdrops which are absolutely free.
