Private communication is, arguably, a human right. Mainframe is here to right all the potential wrongs regarding that conundrum.
The whitepaper is inspirational from the very start. It goes on to mention that ‘no right of private conversation was enumerated in the US Constitution’. That is about to be a moot statement.

The mainframe offers us a way
- to have encrypted data privacy
- to avoid any and all surveillance (someone looking in)
- to avoid censorship attempts (someone locking us out)
Big financial and social upheavals in this millenia depended on the means of communication. Notably peer to peer communication - facebook, skype, whatsapp and similar services played a pivotal role in forming the future as we know it today. Security leaks happened to small and big businesses alike, but this might be the end of such misfortunes.
I for one, have shared some of my private information over slack messaging. I do trust the people I talked too, but should I trust the service providers who also have all the records available? Probably even deleted messages.
How is mainframe better?
It is decentralized and unhosted. Participants in the token economy are incentivized to take part in data services and file storage.
Buzz words here are great networking protocols, the highest security and user sovereignty.
Each ‘mainframe node’ will consist of various communications layers and interested parties will be incentivised to cooperate with one another. I don’t understand the technicalities of data and service dispersal through the nodes, but white paper assures us it will be done thoroughly.
I call on you to check out the process and comment on the viability of it, if you have the knowledge to do so.
Incentives
Peering relationship, which seems essential to the whole process will depend on agreement on the service pricing. All services will translate into use of ERC20 token as a means of compensations. In this case this token is Mainframe (MFT). In future, they are developing interoperability with other blockchains (other than ETH) such as NEO, RSK, Tezos...
It seems there is a way to earn even if we are not personally using it.
I like how the data is stored in puzzle pieces. It’s meaningless unless you combine it.
