"Take care of you and have a safe trip, ensure you call me when you arrive at you destination" he said as he paid for the bus ticket and waved goodbye.
"He didn't even let me hug him" she thought as he walked away "well, there'll be a next time" she told herself.
"Hi, I'm passing through and got an hour to spare, can we see?" She said to him on the phone.
"Wow, really, where exactly are you?" He asked.
"I really do not know but I can see this Film house" She replied.
"Okay, I know exactly where you are. Drop at fifth avenue and head into that coffee shop, I'll join you soon." He said and hung up.
She entered that coffee shop, placed her order and sat to wait for him. To buy time, she flipped through the magazines placed on the table. Before long, her order, which she accepted with a smile, came. Savouring the rich taste of the dark coffee and cream, she got lost in the pages of the magazine.
Words do this to her, they take her to places she's yet to be. She loves being there though, it takes her momentarily away from the hassle of her daily life. Now done with the magazines, she thought about the man she's waiting for.
"What's keeping him for this long?" She wondered. "Maybe he won't come and was too polite to say so."
With these thoughts, she finished up her coffee and decided to give him a few more minutes. She had met him on a busy WhatsApp group some months back, his name had intrigued her, she wanted to know more about this mystery guy who goes around with popcorn.
May 20th was the day, she made the first move. A simple favour she asked of him and he really did make her smile. Less than three weeks later, she was back in his DM asking for his opinion (he's an idea generator, a great and insightful thinker) on something she intended to do. He gave her his all, free of charge and even offered to do the flex design for her. Overtime, she found out he has a heart of gold, he started a foundation to meet the needs of people. How one person can be all that kind, she sometimes doesn't know.
"Bookoons! Finally I'm seeing you! Wow, you are even smaller than I thought." He said with that good natured laugh that is his signature.
Yes, I finally saw him, my #i-rise crush. He has raised funds to help so many people, he cares deeply about others.
Remember that idea I mentioned earlier? It is now 13 weeks old, will be 14 weeks tomorrow, Beauty Parlour with @bookoons.
