Amboise was a typical 17 year old boy, who was known for being nerdy and introverted. He was obsessed with greek legends and other folklores across nations, as well as psychic reading. Unlike most teenage boys who's obsessed with video games, girls and sports, he is obsessed with it. He believes in the different psychic abilities, used to restore and balance the different universes.
His psychic ability was apportation, an ability known for making earthly objects vanish with a simple emotional stare. He used it on his neighbors' dog after he found out it bit his bird to death. Mr and Mrs. Gardner still haven't found it yet. He avoided using it on people, although his life experience taught him otherwise, he still believed in goodness at the core of humanity. Despite being exaperated for his father abandoning him for his stepfamily, and his mother's new boyfriend as well as the bullies from his school, he still showed kindness towards them.
Amboise's conscience turned upside down when his childhood crush/girlfriend dumped him for a better guy. Hayley was the same age as him, but the two of them came from similar families and were neighbors. They've been friends since childhood, and Amboise always secretly had a crush on her. The two of them officially became a couple when she turned 16. 18 months later, a guy named Joffrey, who was in the basketball team asked Hayley out.
"I'm sorry, Amboise. I just don't think this is going to work out anymore..........we're breaking up," Hayley said callously.
"But why...........what part went wrong?" Amboise asked, trying to hold back his tears. "I treated you so well, and we're so alike."
"We're not alike, Amboise. Besides, Joffrey just asked me out yesterday. He's family's got more money and he's more capable. He'll give me things you can never provide, Amboise," Hayley said, before leaving him there on the street.
Amboise glared at the back of Hayley, her long black ponytail swinging behind her. Immediately, she disappeared into thin air. The next few weeks, the police investigation could not find her, and 17 year old Hayley immediately was labelled as "a missing person". The truth was, Amboise never told anyone about vanishing his girlfriend; he was heartbroken and still struggle sleeping, but he knew it was for the best if she was gone.
After two years of searching, Hayley returned. It was like she was reformed from dust, and she could barely remember a thing. According to her, she suddenly went into some kind of portal, where everything seems familiar but different. She felt guilty for dumping Amboise so brutally, but she could not find him anymore. Her parents could not remember her, as if she didn't exist in that dimension. She went to another portal soon later, a much smaller one.
After travelling for more than 50 different universes, Hayley finally returned to the right one. She was suffering severely from psychosis now, and no psychiatrist could explain her experience. Hayley is currently in a psychiatric ward, remembering nothing, hallucination and kept on muttering Amboise's name. Other people like his stepmother, stepsister, stepfather, father and mother are experiencing the same thing. None of them had returned yet, but maybe one day they will.
It has been 20 years since that incident, there's still no current scientific explanation for what had happened. The other victims returned, all of them happen to be suffering from recurring dementia. Amboise is currently a CEO of a company, he has his own wife and children, and if anyone dared to mistreat him or dump him, they'll be next!
