One problem with games as a service is that content that fans love can disappear forever. Such is the case of Verdansk, the first and most beloved map that Call of Duty: Warzone has had in its history. That's why a fan got to work so that players could play there again; however, now Activision has threatened to sue him.

Through social networks, HeyImAlaix, a popular Call of Duty dataminer, revealed that he received a letter from Activision. In it the company sent him a Cease and Desist in which they ask him to abandon his project with which he intends to revive Verdansk. There he was accused of distributing pirated versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

"Alexis, we are aware that you have been advertising and distributing a cracked version of MW2019, and may have been involved in its creation. We are also aware that you are distributing the MW2019 Crack along with a pirated version of the MW2019 game files," the letter the dataminer received states.

WHY DID ACTIVISION THREATEN TO SUE THIS PLAYER?

As we already mentioned, HeyImAlaix was working on making older versions of Warzone playable. In this way, players could enjoy private matches in Verdansk to reminisce about the early months of Call of Duty: Warzone. According to Activision, this damages their brand and they decided to take legal action to "preserve and protect Call of Duty and the incredibly talented developers who create it".
