War. War never changes.
We fought during the discovery of space flight, and as we explored the stars. Many fled to the stars in hopes of escaping conflict, but mass colonization simply brought more bloodshed.
In 2325 the endless battle finally caught someone's attention and retribution was swift. By the time the first distress calls reached the station, most of humanity had been annihilated.
On our last patrol of the outer reaches, a magnetic storm fried our communication array, forcing us to dock the M.F.A. Invictus at Coriatis for repairs. I never expected delaying our return to the inner system would save our hides, let alone that it would put humanity's future in our hands.
I have a reliable set of officers, a Communications Officer, Tactical Officer and Weapons Officer. Our Comms Officer will help us get the people we need to survive and the other two will help keep us alive long enough to evac.
If we can gather our crew, and that's a big if since several of them have their comms offline, we'll be able to keep the panicked civies off our backs long enough to supply up and launch. Our pilot has nerves of steel, and our troops have seen plenty of action. I'd go so far as to call their commanding officer a Defense Specialist. Assuming our engineer and signals specialist can keep their wits we should be ready when the $%&* hits the fan.
We have the weapons and armor we need, the problem is getting the cargo and colonization supplies... We're fighters, not farmers... We can escape alive, but after that it'll be up to whoever we rescue...
