About 1500 people attended DYGYCON 5!
And an entire 10 % of all visitors came to our booth, discovered EXODE, and decided to subscribe to an EXODE starter!
That's right: 150 people!
And yes: 10% of all guests! this is a lot!
What this confirms is:
That EXODE is a game people are looking for.

About the Starter Giveaway
This starter giveaway operation was entirely funded by our Elite Pilots.
What this means is that every 10 USD starter was actually purchased by players and sent to our special event reward pool (which is account exoderewardspool).

The birth of the giveaway operation
The idea of the big Starter giveaway, proposed by Elite Pilots actually, was to make it easier to discover EXODE gameplay for people visiting DYGYCON.
The idea of a player-funded operation is to avoid placing EXODE in a situation where it gives starter contents in a massive way (thus minting them for free) whereas other players had to purchase them before. This could be interpreted as basically unfair, as if you had 'to come at a proper time' to get a free thing from EXODE.
That's the first reason why it was a player initiative. It's basically EXODE facilitating a player made event, which is something we totally encourage. Here, each and every starter has indeed been purchased by a player; it is a player giveaway!
We were overly impressed and went on to create our new Sponsor Program to support this, detailed below. We think this is a basis of a great future for EXODE events.
Also, we had the idea to make the starters bound, to protect the market and further the idea that it's not exactly the same as a shop starter.
Market is safe!
The starters still give the full gameplay potential as a real starter.
They also come with their referrals "preinstalled", which means you automatically gain two bound boosters and a bound random epic character for the largest referral groups.
Which is actually immense!
But bound starters which means they can't be sold or transferred, and that the market and value of starters is protected. They are really not the same as a purchased starter.
Players could then be interested by other starters, such as the triple starter at 20 USD, to have something to trade for profit later! We expect especially that once cards will gain levels you will want this XP to happen to 'tradable cards'.
10% of all visitors?!
That's the crazy number!
During DYGYCON there are speakers and events and you move your avatar to many places.
Finding a specific booth at DYGYCON and staying there to commit some long time is not always easy! That is the reason why even the SWAG giveaway asked for an email, and nothing more.
Finding our little giveaway button could then be a bit hard.
In addition, to make their choice of a starter, people could be interested to watch more on our website and booth video... which takes some more time and commitment! And among attendees there were exhibitors and also EXODE captains, who already had an account and could not take part.
For all the reasons above, it's actually crazy to see that 10% of all attendees filled the form. This means a lot, a big lot in terms of showing some love for EXODE!
EXODE does not actually gain money from this commitment - our alpha boosters are no longer proposed for sale, for instance! but we know new players will enjoy this, and we are very happy from that.
We are also extremely proud of this show of love and how DYGYCON visitors reacted to their discovery of the EXODE universe. This is huge!
When are they sent? And who are the winners?
I am compiling the 150 answers we got.
It will take some time to distribute everything considering the important number of answers and that 30% of people are new accounts coming to HIVE.
We had 36 starters to distribute in the initial plan.
This means there was to be initially 36 winners.
But there is some good news here:
Elite Pilots actually contributed a lot more starters than the initial plan!
They gave 62 starters!
So this means there will be 62 winners out of nearly 150 answers.
Please watch out on your email, and be patient, it's definitely coming in, and coming in soon too! :D
As a hint, I think it will be done within the next 48 hours, with a first email you'll receive tomorrow to make you know about the process!
About Sponsor Points
Sponsor Points is a new concept!
Sponsors are getting their referral bonuses but also "sponsor points". For packs, we determined a rate of 10 points per 1 USD value sent to exoderewardspool. For cards, we'll determine another amount - which will act retroactively - which will depend on card rarity and elite status.
For this starter giveaway, this means every starter sent gives out 100 Sponsor Points to the sponsor.
This is a honorary currency, though it may receive some kind of usage later, for a few cosmetics, or medal, or anything which does not directly impact gameplay.
We are also thinking of an additional "surprise reward" for player sponsors.
Note: Sponsor Points may actually receive another name, because we also have Settler Points for SPs.
