Tengo un registro relativamente corto de consolas en las que he podido jugar, en mi casa siempre hemos sido mas del lado de Microsoft y las primeras Xbox aunque luego tuvimos buenos tiempos con la Wii pero desde eso no habia probado otra consola de la linea Nintendo, pero en esta nueva serie que traigo al blog estare jugando las rezagadas, consolas que en ningun momento pude tener ni jugar, y tratare de emularlas lo mas cercano posible a la experiencia original, revisare algunos clasicos y veremos que tal rinden en mi pc. Estuve investigando y descargando algunos programas y he filtrado algunos de los emuladores que mejor corren con mis caracteristicas, estamos buscando algo que nos de fluidez (creanlo o no es dificil encontrar buena optimizacion), la capacidad de cargar juegos desde distintos tipos de archivos (mayormente .N64) y una buena personalizacion por si quiero cambiar los controles en algunos juegos y hacerlos mas comodos para mi.

La cosa es que cuando saltamos a pc todo cambia, Project64 es uno de los emuladores mas sencillos de utilizar y eso combinado con el sistema de personalizacion que tiene lo pusieron inmediatamente en buena posicion para ser mi anfitrion de este festival de juegos, estuve tocando algunos botones aqui y alla y pude notar que incluso me deja jugar en pantalla completa.

Estuve probandolo en su version para pcs rapidas y los resultados varian un poco, descargue Majora's Mask para probar que tal iba con el rendimiento y creo que aun me faltan un poco de ajustes para que vaya todo lo fluido que puede ir, hubieron algunas ralentizaciones asi como audios que no sincronizaban, nada que un poco de cariño y ajustes no arreglen. Estuve viendo tambien que esto parece ser habitual en estos emuladores, FYI los emuladores tienden a ser un programa muy especial y complicado de poner a funcionar adecuadamente teniendo que copiar o *emular* las funciones y procesamientos de una consola en otros dispositivos, asi que estamos de suerte que este juego al menos pase del primer set de dialogos.

Pero ya saben, por ahora me voy a mantener con **Proyect64**.

- # Super Mario 64 Ni siquiera tienes que pensarlo, Mario tiene que ser mi punto de partida en toda esta aventura, este titulo en particular vino en una epoca en donde los desarrolladores aun estaban tratando de ver que demonios hacia el 3D y como podian manejarlo, pero de repente vino Nintendo y tiro la puerta abajo con un titulo que redefinia el genero de plataformas y sentaba las bases del videojuego en su nueva etapa en la tercera dimension.
- # Ocarina Of Time Otro obligatorio para esta aventura en la vieja 64, otro titulo que definio a toda una generacion y del que siempre he escuchado hablar sin poder jugarlo por completo, tuve un paso breve por el en el emulador de la Wii perocreo que me falto mucha experiencia extra (ademas de completarlo!!), escuchar el sonido de la Ocarina desde su juego natal sera algo mas.

I have a relatively short record of consoles that I have been able to play, in my house we have always been more on the side of Microsoft and the first Xbox although then we had good times with the Wii but since then I had not tried another console of the Nintendo line, but in this new series that I bring to the blog I will be playing the stragglers, consoles that at no time I could have or play, and I will try to emulate them as close as possible to the original experience, I will review some classics and see how they perform on my pc. I' ve been researching and downloading some programs and I have filtered some of the emulators that best run with my characteristics, we are looking for something that gives us fluidity (believe it or not is hard to find good optimization), the ability to load games from different types of files (mostly .N64) and a good customization in case I want to change the controls in some games and make them more comfortable for me.

The thing is that when we jump to pc everything changes, Project64 is one of the easiest emulators to use and that combined with the customization system that has immediately put it in good position to be my host of this festival of games, I was touching a few buttons here and there and I could notice that even let me play in full screen.

I was testing it in its version for fast pcs and the results vary a little, I downloaded Majora's Mask to test how it was going with the performance and I think I still need some adjustments to make it go as smooth as it can go, there were some slowdowns as well as audios that did not synchronize, nothing that a little love and adjustments do not fix. I was also seeing that this seems to be common in these emulators, FYI emulators tend to be a very special and complicated program to put to work properly having to copy or *emulate* the functions and processing of a console on other devices, so we are lucky that this game at least pass the first set of dialogs.

However, for now I'm going to stick with **Project64**.

What classics are we going to test? well that's an answer that could cover a whole post (in progress) but I'll take care to give you a good look at some of the games I've tested so far and plan to play on a frequent basis on my blog.
- # Super Mario 64 You don't even have to think about it, Mario has to be my starting point in this whole adventure, this particular title came at a time where developers were still trying to see what the hell 3D was all about and how they could handle it, but suddenly Nintendo came along and kicked the door down with a title that redefined the platform genre and laid the groundwork for video gaming in its new stage in the third dimension.
- # Ocarina Of Time Another must for this adventure in the old 64, another title that defined a whole generation and that I've always heard about without being able to play it completely, I had a brief pass through it on the Wii emulator but I think I missed a lot of extra experience (besides completing it!!!), hearing the sound of the Ocarina from its native game will be something else.
