THOUGHTS ON DECENTRALISATION

decentralisation.jpg

If there's one thing i feel i haven't written enough about its decentralisation! Why is it that so few people seem to understand the core problems with it, and how our entire world is built around it. It is an entrenched ideology that is perhaps one of the only unifying and all pervading attribute of all the ISM’s.. capitalism, communism etc. I think it is one of those things that people are so used to that they dont even question it. The same can be said for voting really. With all thats gone on in the past year, and before of course, but especially this past year, most people will continue to vote.. even for the same people that have led us down the path that we are currently on.

There is only really one way for the people to learn of the breadth and depth of what centralisation has done and continues to do to this world the and life that inhabits it. Those who think that the only important things happening in the world are displayed on the news are of course sorely mistaken. Anything newsworthy or noteworthy is always hidden and always covered up. Whatever the reason for it, that is how things are. But, the way and i believe the only way out of this quagmire is for whistleblowers to emerge and for public opinion on whistleblowers to change.

We are still a long way from that reality, we only have to look at Edward Snowden or Julian Assange.. or any of the other whilst blowers that have blown their horn. Nevertheless, it can happen as the system breaks down and as the shackles that held people back are also broken. When you no longer have a job and your savings are fast becoming worthless, things may take a different course.

In the meantime! ,… Here we are… sat on the edge of even worse centralisation or total liberation. Most of us here on Hive understand the need and the power of blockchain to bring us out of the paradigm of endless and infinite greed at any cost. If at least the current system brought people happiness it might make some sense, but nowadays no one with that much money or power is happy. No one can spend that much money,. and no one wants to live under the scrutiny and pressures of being that powerful.

This truth is i think becoming clear as we see very powerful people step down from their roles, one by one to a much less prominent position, or to work in places that are much less in contentious (for now). Examples are people like Bill Gates, Google CEOs and Jeff Bezos.

For now and for as long as people feel it’s justified to vote for corrupt people who are destroying the world and committing most people and animals to a lifetime of misery and slavery.. this charade will continue. For as long as people think that the government taking around three quarters of your money in taxes is OK, this charade will continue. I believe that IF people actually knew where most of the tax money goes they would be horrified!

I think this is one of those things that we just have to wait to unravel. I dont believe ranting and trying to explain why this centralised predatory capitalistic system is basically killing our world will ever work. I believe the truth will become self evident as and when we as a culture are ready to really hear it and believe it. Until then we live in mass denial. Trying to make someone see the flaws of voting, and our entire system of governance is like trying to convince an atheist of the existence of God. We live hypnotised by news and algorithms. Everything is propagated by more hypnotism in the form of adverts. Adverts run this world. Adverts generate more revenue today for companies like google than just about anything else. There is a reason why that is so! The power that these companies have is beyond anything most folk can comprehend, and today they are all controlled by the government.

Today i posted a thought of the month on Facebook. It said:
“When we take the fat cat and the middle man out… The abundance we can all experience will be breathtaking”

This thought was inspired by blockchain and in particular by Hive and its former chain Steem. I have been on this platform for around 4 years now. Through being on Hive i have learned what true abundance can be like. SOmetimes its like anything you do on Hive brings abundance. I remember back in the day when there were paid votes with voting bots that you could even get more back than you had spent promoting your post. It was like you got paid to advertise!.. now Thats abundance!

Amazingly, four years later this great experiment is still going, still working, and even blossoming in some areas like Splinterlands. Hive has shown me that if we do remove all the layers of corruption, greed and what ill call Evil, there is great abundance available to us all. It is accessable to us all, if we really choose it, and within it there are very few rules. We are free, and we cannot be easily coerced or controlled. You only have to look back at some of the old wars in Steem to know that.. two whales fighting is not pretty, and no one can ever really shut them down! As ugly as some of that was, it is only due to the beauty and transparency of the blockchain that allowed us know it was happening and to try to do something about it. Finally, after many changes to the system we have found another balance that almost instantly changed the entire way the ecosystem was operating. I am of course referring to the Steem Hardfork 21 ( i think or thereabouts) when curation rewards were upped to 50% and downvoting was given its own power rating.

We are still here, Hive is still here.. and i continue to be here.. waiting with bated breath for this system to catch up with what blockchain has to offer this world.

In the meantime, i have to be honest.. i do not want to be a part of that system in any way. Maybe there is something to be said for working with it to change it..but i believe that path to be futile. Maybe ill just sit on a mountain somewhere and meditate until the whistleblowers start coming out! Maybe I'll keep writing about it, sewing seeds and helping to spread the word. I dont think this will happen overnight, but i hope i am still around when things truly turn around.. i hope that will happen.. it feels like it must.. i feel like i spent my life watching movies that warned us about it, and those movies always ended up well didn’t they.. even if, always, at the last minute when it was almost too late!
