I was feeling rather bored today, and Monkey-B asks me far more to play than I ever partake in, so I decided to give playtime with my daughter 100% of my attention today.

Β  Β  Β Well, the above photo was taken a few days ago after my lame attempt to make an RV. I was rather let down with my creation, and something inside me told me I needed to reawaken my inner-child creativity.

Β  Β  Β Fast forward to today, and I had already decided I was going to devote full attention to play, sans some photos for Hive content of course. I solved the fender problem from the previous build and built a blank chassis to start from for this more intentional build.

Β  Β  Β The excitement on Monkey-B's face was priceless when she saw me drag the LEGOs out of her room and start playing by myself. She actually murmured to herself "Me and Dad are besties!" I can't say where she learned that vocabulary, but I can say I've never uttered that word in front of my children.

Β  Β  Β In a more meditative state, and with a little advice from Monkey-B, I assembled a much more RV-looking RV complete with side-mirrors and a roofrack.

Β  Β  Β I should problem listen to my daughter(s) a little more, because playtime was good advice. It's amazing how consumed by "stressful thoughts and worries" we adults we can become. There was a period of about 45 minutes where I was just building and hanging out with my daughter, and thinking about nothing else on Earth other than those two things.

Β  Β  Β That might sound like a small feat, but our economic situation here in Suriname is tough, and this causes me to spend too much time working and not enough enjoying life. There is much more to homeschooling than just the schooling part, play is much-needed for teacher and student. Give thanks for the smiles Monkey-B, I'll be playing LEGOs with you more often.
